Here we have Mirafone's Daisy Cutter models - a 190 CC and a 190 BBb. The CC is Tommy Johnson's old horn, and is around 22 years old or so. These horns in a CC configuration are extremely rare, which may account for the fact that nobody talks about them much. It sure ain't because they sound like crap!! This thing has what might be considered a fairly typical Mirafone sound - even, focused, centered, but *freakin' huge*. I'd probably put it up against just about any large rotary CC tuba out there. The BBb tries to keep up, but usually ends up somewhere in the weeds at the side of the road. War
